Very sad to here of Joe's passing. He was a great teammate, scholar and always enjoyable to be around. We had great times in college and immediately after prior to his USAF service commitment. I hadn't had contact with him since 1981 when he wrote a letter of recommendation for me during my naval service.
I remember fondly when several us would go to his basement at home to lift weights and then play home run derby with a whiffel ball in the backyard. LOL!
He was a wonderful father and committed to his family. I will miss him and I wish the best for his family.
With the greatest respect.
