Jerry's passing took me several days to emotionally process. I knew he was not well but it still was difficult for me. He was a great friend who was kind, generous and so interesting to talk to. We would reminisce about old times and his stories were so funny. Jerry remembered things I had completely forgotten about!
He also kept me plugged into what was happening in Lincoln and timely info on the Cornhuskers. I'm going to miss my good friend. My sincere condolences to Jerry's wife, Jana, and his family. God be with you Jerry.

Very sad to here of Joe's passing. He was a great teammate, scholar and always enjoyable to be around. We had great times in college and immediately after prior to his USAF service commitment. I hadn't had contact with him since 1981 when he wrote a letter of recommendation for me during my naval service.
I remember fondly when several us would go to his basement at home to lift weights and then play home run derby with a whiffel ball in the backyard. LOL!
He was a wonderful father and committed to his family. I will miss him and I wish the best for his family.
With the greatest respect.
