
Joyce Elaine Pleines was born in Lincoln on January 22, 1952. She was a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and a friend to many.
She met her husband, Bob in the church choir, and would marry in September 1970. They had a son in 1973 and a daughter in 1975. Joyce would become a grandmother to three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A kind and selfless woman, she never missed a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion for family or friends. She was compassionate and empathetic toeveryone around her.
She loved to craft, making stained-glass art, ceramics, paper quilling, calligraphy, and silk flower arrangements. She loved houseplants and gardening.
Upon retiring, she volunteered and donated her silk flower arrangements to St. Elizabeth’s Gift Shop. She would travel throughout Nebraska to visit wineries with her husband, but her favorite memories were those spent in Oahu.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Young, her mother, Hazel Young (Fellows), brother-in-law, Bill Cramer, and nephew, Jimmy Cramer.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Pleines; son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Jenny Pleines; daughter, Shannon Pleines; grandson and great-granddaughter, Tanner and Emerson Pleines; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Mikayla and Dakota Jaskulski; sister, Jan Cramer; nephews: Billy Cramer, David Cramer, Brian Cramer, Kevin Cramer; niece and nephew-in-law, Carrie and Brian Soell, and niece, Julie Cramer.
