
Mary Christine Warnke was born on March 11, 1952, to John and Faye (Fahrenholtz) Warnke in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She was the oldest of two children born to this union, having a younger sister Pat. Chris received the blessing of Holy Baptism on August 3, 1952 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church Auburn and was confirmed on May 28, 1968. She graduated from Southeast High School in Lincoln in 1970, and as a veterinary technician from Curtis, NE in 1972. While working in the Veterinary Science department at UNL, she met Monty Klintworth and on June 20, 1980, they were married at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, rural Staplehurst, NE. They spent their married life first in Seward and then along Highway 34 on the farm of Monty's great-grandfather, John Klintworth. Chris was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, rural Staplehurst. She worked at UNL and for a time she worked at PetSmart as a trainer and groomer. Chris enjoyed taking care of all kinds of animals. Her favorite dogs were Shelties. Chris was the superintendent of the small animal and rabbit show at the Seward County Fair. In November 2010, Chris was diagnosed with cancer, stemming from a spot on her lower right leg. Treatments and surgery followed, each giving a measure of hope that this cancer was going to be defeated. On January 8, 2013, after granting Chris 60 years, 9 months, 28 days on earth, with her husband by her side, she passed into the waiting arms of Jesus. Beloved family members who had preceded her in death include: her grandparents, her parents, her mother-in-law Maria Klintworth, and her brother-in-law Marty Klintworth. Those left to cherish Chris' memory include: her loving husband of 32 years: Monty Klintworth of rural Pleasant Dale, NE; her sister and spouse: Pat and Bill Ticknor of Mission Viejo, CA; her niece and spouse: Daryn and Jeremy Reiter of Lincoln; and their children Braisley and Berlyn,; her niece: Becca Ticknor of Seattle, WA; father-in-law: Roland Klintworth of Seward; brother-in-law and spouse: Mitch and Priscilla Klintworth of rural Seward; her nephew and spouse: Dan and Kim Klintworth of Seward; and their daughter Trista; nephew: Nate Klintworth of rural Seward; many family members and friends and her loyal Sheltie, Levi.
