Nancy J. Kapke of Lincoln, born March 25 1952, passed away July 13, 2024, after a long tough battle with ovarian cancer. She passed away peacefully in her home, with family by her side. Nancy was the definition of being selfless. She had so much love to give and never expected or wanted anything in return. Nancy is remembered for many things starting with the exceptionally kind hearted (saint-like) characteristics she embraced; being able to care for multiple generations of children and families during the 46 years she provided daycare in her home. That was her calling. She loved and adored every child she ever cared for. She has touched countless lives in so many different and positive ways. Being a safe and caring person to trust your children with while you work, answering phone calls in the middle of the night to bail someone out of trouble, or being an ear to talk to. She took you in if you needed a place to call home- kids, adults, even animals. She was also known for her open-door policy. So many people knew Nancy’s warm smile, the lady on the porch who would always wave as you drove by. The house on the corner that became a hub of it’s own, because Nancy made it that way.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Michelle McKay (Adam Hubert), step-daughter Sherri Oaks (James), step-son Doug Kapke Jr., Grandkids Bridgette Foerster (Mike), Brooklyn Hubert, AJ Oaks (Haley), Steffen Oaks, Victoria Soller (Cory), Aaron Kapke, Alex Kapke, Drake Kapke, Brothers Leon Overy and Ron Overy, and 8 great grandkids. She is preceeded in death by her husband Doug Kapke Sr, her parents Kerwyn Overy and Edna Ptacek, and great granddaughter Coralee Foerster. https://aspenaftercare.com/obituary/nancy-j-kapke/
